CV Curve Tool issue

#1

This probably has a pretty simple fix but I can’t figure out why my curve tool keeps acting like this when I’m mapping out the vertices. It acts a bit strange when I try to form a smooth curve. At the top there where the line curves, I expected it to have a much more subtle curve but it sort of jolts every time I try to create a nice curve.

#2

That looks like it’s based on the degree of the curve you’re creating. Maybe you just need to be adding more control points? That’s how I do it, anyway.

#3

I tried that already :frowning: No matter how many control points I added, once I tried to create that curve, it jolted

#4

what is exactly the shape you are trying to create?

#5

It’s just something like a more rigid U curve. Like a bracket with curved corners. So I start with a straight line, plotting out enough control points as I go along, and then as soon as I try to make the slight bend before the next straight line, I get this issue

#6

have you tried the different types of curve tool?
CV, EP and bezier; each one of them is working in a certain way

#7

Come to think of it… I might have been using EP Curve tool all along. That’s the icon I kept clicking straight off the shelf, without crosschecking that it was the CV curve. That would make so much sense. I’ll check
