Custom Normals (Data transfer)


In Blender, there is such a function as transferring normals information from one object and overlaying them on normals information of another object.
Here’s what it looks like:

I made a ribbon between the objects, and replaced the normals on the outermost rows.

Question: How do I do the same thing in C4D?


I know you can customize vertex/poly normals using fields, but I don’t think you can use a custom shape as a field to do so.

Here’s a cheap tool ($1 minimum) that looks like it might do the trick. Looks like it’s being maintained up to at least r23…
