Custom brush question

#1

hi everyone.
I want to place a little photo of a flower all over my canvas at random. so i created a custom brush that does all this job for me, but the problem is that the brush paints with the actual foreground color. i want to use the actual photo of the flower. how can i do this? the pattern stamp won’t do the trick, it just tiles the photo; i want to place it at random. any ideas, please? i’d really appreciate your help, i’m not very skilled in PS.

This isn’t currently possible in Photoshop, unfortunately.

Funnily enough, this is the second thread this week asking this exact question :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah - that is one of the “missing” capabilities of Photoshop - an image hose. Corel PhotoPaint, Painter and other programs have this capability - even illustrator has it to some extent (art brush). I haven’t heard if there are plans to include it or not. There is a plug-in however that WILL do this. I haven’t tried it but it seems like it’s worth a shot if you do that type of work constantly…
