custom brush opacity adjustment

#1

Does anyone know how to control the opacity so that if paint is layered on top it wont show through the underlayer?

Hey Nick, could you re-phrase your question? I’m not sure we’re understanding your problem.

I think I know what you are asking but to understand your issue you need to understand what the brush engine is looking at. Photoshop creates bruses bassed on black and white. the white being clear and black being solid. levels of grey are just levels of transperancy. So what you are trying to do will not work.

Ok now for a solution to your issue. you can make a ‘pyramid shape’ with the selection tool ssimple blocks with light and shadow will do. and on a different layer do the brush technique with your custom brush you are currently using. and erase out the unwanted over hang ect… you may still need to add a bit of detail but less work than drawing by hand… btw I would work on getting the block shapes i perspective first.
