CS4 Brush resize shortcut?

#1

A Maya-inspired shortcut I’ve been wanting for years:

alt + right click is supposed to allow us to quickly resize any brush, right? It is not working on my system. Any ideas? I am running Windows XP64 SP2

#2

no it is alt + contrl on windows and cmd contrl on mac

On the online help here (Keys for using the Brushes panel) i can see that:

Change brush size

Windows: Alt + right click + drag
Mac: Ctrl + Option + click-drag
So it should work :hmm:

ignore the manual and do what i said above and see if that works… use the force luke.

#5

just tried it and both work.

ctr+alt+right click
alt+right click

I’m on both a Mac and a PC. What your all describing is to open the brush window and “choose” a specific size brush.

For me, I use the bracket keys next to the letter P. The right increases the brush size and the left,
decreases on the fly.

#7

no i am not… what I am describing is in CS4 you can change the size of the brush holding down the key combonation on mac apple+ control and dragging to resize visually. like you can in painter

#8

is there anyway to get that shortcut on wacom tablet? like getting — right click + alt , i been trying but no use

#9

yes in the wacom setting you can make the button represent any keystroke you like

#10

Why dont you just use the bracket keys? [ and ]

#11

cause the bracket keys you have to press repeatedly… the method i said you drag to desired size

#12

Well actually you don’t you just have to keep pressing you can assign them to your pen buttons.

#13

Alt-RMB dragging the brush size gives you finer control than using the bracket keys. Moreover, while the bracket keys do work if you keep them pressed, it’s prone to over-shooting your target size, making you tap back to what you intended. Therefore, rather inefficient.

While the new shortcut is brilliant and works exactly how it should, I’m not sure why it shows up as an extremely bright red dot. Something far more subtle would’ve been equally as effective and perhaps less jarring on the eyes.

#14

you can change the color in preferences – curser — preview color

#15

Have anyone idea how to map Alt+Right mouse button hot key to single Wacom tablet button? In Wacom settings, I could only find Alt+Left mouse button, but that’s not I want.

EDIT: I’ve tried to change shortcut keys, bu surprisingly I couldn’t find it in Keyboard Shortcuts menu! D’oh!
