Critics for 4 matte paintings

#1

Hello,

Recently I worked on new 4 matte paintings for my final project, these are in 4k resolution soon I will be working on projection and camera move. Before I jump into camera I thought to get your critics and suggestion to improve the comps.

      Thanks for your time

Hmmm
its really beautiful. It got an atmosphere, I like especially the second one. Can I ask on your workflow ? did you edit a photos to final images or are those bulding/landscapes 3D rendered and additionally re-painted ?
Im longer time thinking of making something like this, but something always drag me out of it. Maybe you could make some tutorial later  Or at least post link if you used some tutorial for your work.
Good luck with camera mapping

Thanks man:-)

Right now my workflow (for 2d matte painting)

1/ Concept
2/ Finding relevant images/ sometime I go for shooting for right images / cgtextures.com ( images, vegetation, clouds etc) / xfrog (for vegetation) / vue ( for mountains, clouds) / zbrush ( for trench etc)
3/ I work on 4k because I get enough space to work around
4/ photo manipulation and painting on top of main image in photoshop

Now Im working on some corrections which I got it from some matte artists. I will be posting the breakdown once I am done with those changes. or U can give me ur email ID I will send u the link once im done:-)

Thats cool,
I heard a lot that mattepainters use often Vue, maybe I ll take a look on it one day  For now Im working in Terragen 2, pretty cool results from that, too. But mainly in Maya, concentrating on vehicle modeling.
Sure, my email is a.dudak@zoznam.sk or you can PM me with link, I would like to check it

On first image the red bridge look to clean and ropes look to much thick for me, and have a sharp bend. I would add to them lainy, bushes so they look more age.
On third image too much illumination lights areas. It’s hard to viewer to focus on something.
The other two a cool in that resolution.
