Hello, I’ve gotten myself into trouble
I’m studying, and even though I had only one semester of 3D, I need start my engineering thesis (Literally “creating 3d character for game with 3ds max”) and finish it. And I’m so overwhelmed by the topic that I did nothing. So to start things up I decided to create post here asking few questions.
Is it good idea/viable skill to learn character modelling in 3ds max? I heard zbrush is superior and if I wanted to create in 3ds max, I should focus on modeling more “dead” things like furniture or buildings/interiors.
I can’t seem to find any tutorials on character modelling for 3ds max that would actually go over all the things they’re doing, and with them using shortcuts on a sped up video… I’m lost and don’t know where to look for help.
Most important:
How would you go about creating character from scratch in 3ds max if you knew nothing except for most basic things like navigating the viewports, edit poly, turbosmooth with support loops and basic ass material editor(the one with spheres)? And actually finish it with textures.
I’m not the best selflearner and it’s pretty hard to find good teacher in this specific topic. Best I could find are mechas/robots but that’s not helping in my case.
