Creating a camera that flips the image in Maya

#1

I’m using stacked image planes bound to a skeleton to form puppets in Maya for a collaborative project.

What I’m wondering is if there is any camera setting that I can change to make a camera that sees the reverse of what is presented.

For example-

This:

Would become this-

I thought I could just scale the x axis to -1, but it didn’t work.

Thanks!

I don’t think so. You would have to do it to the geometry. Anything wrong with just doing this in post?

you kinda had the right idea, but don’t scale the camera doh! scale the image plane that the character is on instead… you can always render that part in a separate pass and composite it in after effects, shake, or combustion or whatever… and scale it in the negative that way…
