I’m having very annoying crashes on scene load with files I’m building that contain multiple nParticle rigs, imported into one master scene file.
basically I have a single nParticle object goaled to an object in a scene file,
I import that fx rig into another file multiple times, and blend the goal geo to the anim geo.
the imported master file is exported without an attached nucleus node, if that makes any difference,
and then once its imported, I attach it to a shared nucleus node in the main sim scene file.
(this is where I am pointing the finger at the moment)
in any one scene I could have 5-10 of these fx rigs.
Now the problems begin…these main sim scenes, to run are incredibly crashy and will segfault seemingly randomly at times, and then to add insult to injury, I have found yet another case where upon saving the file, and trying to re-open it, maya just crashes immediately.
I have also consistenly had issues changing attrs on the NParticle object like the lifespan pulldown menu just immediately hard crashing maya as well…
I’m building these files in maya 2012, but have tried to open the files that are crashing, in 2013 and 2014 and I get the same result.
I’m pretty much at wits end on this bug and am really getting tired of coming across nucleus bugs like this.
anybody have similar issues that might shed some light on what could be happening ?
