CRABTREE VFX SHORT: Maya artists needed

#1

G’day! Here’s a few still frames from our short film “The Curse of Eleanor Crabtree”. The black comedy tells the tale of a woman cursed with immortality and the extreme steps she takes to be reunited with her murdered fiance.

We are still in need of some maya artists, competent in modelling and texturing - particle skills a bonus. There is the possibility of some payment for your work, but if nothing else you will get a credit, crew t-shirt, dvd of the finished film and can use your shots in your reel.

If you like the style and are interested in working on the project please email me: mrego@egotripp.com with some info of your skills and examples of work.

We aim to have the vfx finished by Feb 2005. If you’d like to know more visit our website www.crabtreethemovie.com

Thanks

In case anyone is interested. I need this end of the road cliff design built - and it must be in maya!

Here’s a rough of what i have so far - the road that will lead to the cliff. All that has to be modelled and textured is the two seperate cliffs, a road sign and what i neglected to draw, a wooden fence/barrier on the left cliff for which the hearse will break through and plummit to the bottom of the canyon - Wile Coyote style.

The colour pallette of our film is orange, green, black and white. Strong shadows as you can see and things are always bent and twisted. Inspired by Mr Burton!

and then there’s the VOLCANO SET

The volcano needs to be modelled and textured of course, plus there is a big need for dynamics, some lava spilling out, bubbling and splashing about and plenty of steam/smoke/atmos. i already have a particle swarm of bats to add in. I can divide the work or someone can look after the whole scene - again maya preferred.

There are four shots where our actress has to be composited into the set. She dives into the volcano! So if anyone feels inspired to be a part of our film and help build these sets, shoot me an email.

Cheers

If you by any chance you need weirdy music for your short…you can take a listen to the work I’ve done on the link below.

Good work so far!
