CPS style palette for Blender?

#1

Is there a script for a Connect Poly Shape style floating palette for Blender? Basically what I want is to have a custom floating palette with the controls for select edge/face/vert, snapping, ect freely movable anywhere on the screen. I know there are shortcuts but I used the CPS toolkit for Maya a lot and it’s quite a timesaver.

Here’s kind of what I’m talking about, would it be possible to make a moving palette like this in Python and if so how hard would it be to implement?

I have no coding experience so I have no idea how difficult this would be to do.

As far as I can tell, at least currently, you can’t create freely floating panels.
http://www.blender.org/documentation/250PythonDoc/

I suppose you can alway’s create a custom side panel…
or just edit/customize the already existing toolbox.

Thanks, I didn’t know if it was possible or not. Seems like everything is anchored to the interface at the moment.

not what you are looking for, but you may try to enable the spacebar menu in the addons, is a dynamic menu.

You know what, that’s brilliant! I just remapped the normal Ctrl + Tab edit menu to the spacebar and I like that much better. If I can’t have a floating palette this is the next best thing.
