i like this a lot … but it needs fine tuning …

  • do check out references … one awesome example : http://www.artofgregmartin.com/

  • also, scan the ending of the star trek movie directed by J.J. abrams … breathtaking visuals of galaxies … planets … etc …

  • expand your canvas … try and show something distinct … vast …

Matte painting or illustration? Matte painting means it’s meant to be used in a film/TV/game production as an actual matte.

The lens flare–do you actually want to simulate a camera lens, or is this supposed to be what we’re seeing with our own eyes?

What is it you want to convey with this image? You said you wanted “regions of the universe distinct from the Earth,” but if you wanted something distinctly different from earth, then why not go for something much more exotic, instead of a planet that looks so much like earth?

The universe is so vast and so full of amazing, exotic possibilities. If you want something very different from earth, then really go for it.

Thanks for reply ,I understand my mistakes , will go for something much more exotic on next one and will try not to use things like lens flare realised only after you told it :slight_smile:
