Comustion 3: Layer turns white with particles?

#1

Hey there people,

I’ve run into a problem with Combustion 3 (shock). I’m trying to add a particle emitter to a new layer; all goes well until I try to do a render, at which point whichever layer has the particles added to it turns white (semi-transparent then opaque). It doesn’t show up in the preview render at draft level - but does at higher quality settings - and it does not effect other layers. I would usually chalk such problems up to memory issues, but I have not encountered any similar problems with other bigger, more complex compositions. Even more frustrating is that it was working fine initially and then just started playing up without warning.

I’m learning this program as I go and so I hope I’ve done something stupid and simple that can be easily corrected - but so far no one has been able to help.

Cheers.

Are you using OpenGL to render the Composite? If you are turn it off and try software render instead. If not is there a sample file you can upload that exhibits the problem for someone to look at?

If you have an nvidia quadro card, there is a Combustion specific setting in the “Display Control Panel > Settings > Advanced > GeForce” to tune the drivers to work with it properly.
