Composting reflections onto dark glass

#1

What are some general tips when composting reflections onto clear glass that has darkness behind it? (Like looking at a store front window where the inside of the store is darker than the outside street.)

It’s more than just a Lighten or Screen apply mode, right?

Some thoughts:
1 Most glasses reflect a double image.
2 Artifacts and dirt on the glass prevent
reflection.
3 The reflection is warped especially near
the glass panels.
4 The image jumps a bit when crossing
a panel.
5 Light reflected on already reflected
shiny opjects introduces a bright
blurry area on the glass.
You should take some of the above
and/or other into account.
Sorry for the poor English.

6 no reflection is even from every angle so use a falloff when rendering reflections or render at least a falloff pass for reflective surfaces
7 no surface is 100% even so render a bump or displacement into those or apply this in post.
