Celebrating over 25 years in the industry, Scanline VFX specializes in creating complex visual effects for high end, block buster feature
films with studios worldwide: Vancouver, Los Angeles, Munich, and
Stuttgart. Founded in Germany, the company expanded to Los Angeles in
2007 and opened the largest studio in beautiful Vancouver, British
Columbia in 2011.* In 2015 it won the Emmy for Outstanding Visual
Effects for their work on Game of Thrones.* Scanline VFX has received
multiple Academy Award Nominations for Best Achievement in Visual
Effects: 2014 for Iron Man 3 and in 2010 for its work on director Clint
Eastwoods Hereafter.* We are also well known for our proprietary,
in-house fluid effects software Flowline, for which it received a 2008
Scientific and Technical Achievement Academy Award.
Today, it is one of the biggest names in the industry and the go-to studio for creating epic, breathtaking cinematic moments.* Current

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Composting Supervisor, the composting artist harmonizes all layers and elementsto create the final and complete shot
for live action feature films. Working primarily in Nuke, the artist is
responsible for continuity and understanding the full CG process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for creating high quality digital composites and visual effects for live action feature films; seamlessly integrate the various
layers of a shotEstablishes looks and/or follow set style direction.Understands and follows production guidelines; solves design and/or effect challenges for key visual effects shots as needed.Receives and implements feedback quickly and effectively.Collaborates with other compositors to ensureshots are delivered to highest standard and on schedule.Mentor and advise junior compositors; share knowledge and techniques.Escalates issues as neededQUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
5+ years live action feature film composting experience (nb: not stereo compositing)Intermediate to Advanced Nuke SkillsExcellent knowledge of composting workflow; directory structure, file formats, naming conventions, scrpts, automation tools, automated
dailies etc.Eye for detail, colour matching, light and ability to QA own work.Outstanding organizational and time management skillsAbility to take direction positivelyTraditional art back ground an asset.Script writing skills an asset.*
