Will these ever come to this forum? I know compositing isn’t as big as some of the other disciplines, but it would be really cool if someone started up some compositing challenges.
Could even give a backplate or something for people to work with and practice on.

Well it would be easy to provide a backplate and maybe an HDRI or something. Any render or CG model beyond that would probably be on the compositors hands.
then it is more a shading, lighting, texture, render contest then compositing.

or you could take you smartphone (they do all now at least 720p) out of your pocket, film yourself or a friend in 5 different spots on the same location and start your own challenge. to combine these 5 people into one plate (like they do in “orphan black” )

Was looking for an outlet for compositing but if some of those shading and lighting competitions are similar I might try to do some of those.
I’m also on your side for a comp challenge, but as i stated before is all a question of providing the footage
and it could be something simple as the “multiple me” in a room
