Started workin on a quick composite. If you look closely at the character there is a grid type surface over the top of him. Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it.

It looks like you are in preview mode, switch to Best before saving an image. If you composite CGI elements rendering in Best mode is useful. Motion Blur and a softer anti aliasing filter removes the computer generated look a little.
Perhaps the anti aliasing of your 3D Software is too low. Also check the Pixel Aspect Ratio of your composite and your footage.
