All my older project I can view things just fine, unfortunately all my new project show up as black, I change the background it still stays black, Everything I import into the comp does not show, only the bounding box. I tried holding SHIFT ALT CONTROL on AE start up and with no avail. Also the thumbnail in the project information shows things correctly only render box in black.
Found nothing on google answering this problem, hope someone here has a solution.

Which version of AE? What type of files are you pulling in? Are you sure you have the correct codec for interpreting the footage? It sounds like you recently upgraded software so I’m not sure why you would all of a sudden have issues. Do you still have the previous version?
Without knowing what files you are playing with and what program version - there’s not much that anyone can do to help you.
I would make sure that all codecs necessary are installed and that your recently upgraded program doesn’t have any updates or plug-ins missing. Check the interpretation of the file in the project window. Other than that - I don’t know.
woops, I have CS4… Like I said I open old project files and things work fine, when I create a new project things are all black, There must be a setting a clicked to make it all go black…Something that Ctrl alt shift is not fixing.
