I am going back to DC next week ( I am on vacation right now), and I promise we will ramp this up.

there is a hot scene in resident evil, where the special-force has to go a white room. and then comes a laser wire and cuts one of them into little boxes. and all the boxes slides on each other and fall down. i loved that effect
but i have no idea how to do something like that :stuck_out_tongue:

edti:

I think this would be another topic
I missunderstood the disintegration thing. lol

Check out the movie “Cube” which has a better variant, much grittier, of that effect in it’s opening scene…

“13 Ghosts” also has a similar effect, but I don’t think it really falls under the category of disintegration, more like “sliced and diced”.

#46

A long as we are on this topic, the first Underworld movie had this effect (the death of Vicotr by Viktor by Selene) , and now that I think of it, also the Blade II Reaper and the party scene in Ghost Ship.

The GhostShip version was extremely “sick”, which might be why I like it.

#48

Em…so? it’s mid Jan now…

#49

Promise I will have it up next week.

Whee! For some reason I read the thread title as the 7th of January… so I got all confused.

#51

Bahh… i finally decide to do one of these challanges and have some time and you are going to start it just as i go away on holidays for a month with no computer

Did someone say Buffy? :scream: My vampiredar went off while browsing this area, hehe.

I think there are a lot of disintegration effects in that movie ‘The One’. They teleport you around by disintegrating you and I recall there being a big article online about the use of digital doubles for that.

If there’s need for Buffy footage or screenshots I have all 7 series on DVD, hehe. Plus some of the other movies.
