Comic shader question

Hi

Im trying to make a shader that looks like old style comics.
I´ve made a ramp comtaing a few images of lines for the different light levels.
Im trying to make the images on the ramp render as flat, facing the camera and not follow the shape of the object but cant figure out how to do it. I tried connecting a sampler info node
to the ramp with facing ratioUVcoord>vCoord, but it dosent work.
Also can i make the size of the images in the ramp be rendered the same size regardless of the distance of the object to the camera.
Im using maya and rendering with mental ray.
Anyone know how to do this?
