combustion rendering to premiere

#1

im having trouble finding a good format and codec to be rendering my files from combustion 3 so that they will work well with premiere 6.5. the stuff that looks ok coming out of combustion looks like crap as soon as i bring it into premiere. i am capturing from dv ntsc widescreen using premiere. any suggestions would help a lot.

have you tried png based quicktime files? that special kind of quicktime is lossless…
or tif, tga or png sequences?

Render uncompressed Tiff or Targa file sequences out of Combustion and import them into Premiere. Pay attention on the field order(if you render out in fields)

I always encourage people to render to an image sequence instead of an AVI or Quicktime movie. If something goes wrong during the render process your AVI or MOV will be trashed and you’ll have to re-render all over again. As scrimski said, note the field order if you are using field rendering. You need to import the fields properly or else it will appear to be jerky. You have a 50/50 shot of getting it right the first time. Otherwise, reverse the fields.
