Combustion equivalent of AFX Echo effect

#1

Help, I need to figure out a way to do the equivalent of the echo effect from After Effects in Combustion. For those not familiar, this is a ghosting effect where it shows the frames before or after for a specified number of frames.

I already tried bringing the plugin into Combustion, it appears, but doesn’t do anything to the footage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone? I was thinking maybe it might be possible to adjust the attributes for the motion blur effect to achieve this if there’s not a dedicated way to do it.

ok, so I figured it out and thought I’d post the solution here in case anyone needed it later. You can do this using motion blur. Just set the Samples low and the Shutter high. For example: 6 samples with a 6 frame shutter will ghost 6 frames (I think) because the shutter is open for 3 frames before and 3 frames after the current frame (assuming the phase is set to 0) and it’s sampling 6 frames from that time so that’s one sample for each frame. This will create a ghosting effect. Hope this is helpfull to someone.
