Combustion 3 and up says it supports the Firewire port as a frame buffer to preview work on an NTSC display. My question is if there is a device out there that will convert the IEEE.1394 cable from the computer to a composite/s-video/component output so I can connect to so some external NTSC video display. The only method I’m aware of is going from the IEEE port on the PC to a DV Cam, then run the DV Cam’s S-Video cable to an NTSC video monitor. This is less than desirable.

Seems I’ve found the answer to my own question. Looks like any generic box from Pyro or ADVC will work. I wonder if Avid MOJO fits in this category because MOJO support real-time framebuffer output for XSI, so that’d be sweet if Combustion sees MOJO as a DV device for real-time framebuffer output.
