ColorCorrect / CC plugin - max 2012?

#1

Hello I encounter problems with running CCx64 with the 3ds max 2012. I’ve got 2 errors occuring:

  1. error says sth like: Could not find the entry point of procedure (…) in the core.dll library

when I hit ok, a second error appears:

2 (…)ColorCorrect.dlm>failed to initialize. Error code 127 - Could not find specified procedure

See the attachments for more details…

Max starts without cc plugin… please help.

As far as I know there isn’t a version of ColorCorrect for Max 2012, which means you are probably trying to use the Max 2010 version in 2012, which won’t work.

You’ll just have to wait until Cuneyt gets around to recompiling it.

There’s a problem, though. It seems that the author is not interested in developing this tool anymore - He has not post anything at his forum for almost half a year…

But, is there any legal obstacle that You guys do it on your own? Or is there any possibility that You re-script Autogamma plugin so that it works with the max’s color correction?

Lets see if I can bribe Cuneyt with some beer or a nice homecooked meal, I really want a bugfree recompile as well. I’ll post any update I find.

Looks like Neil is trying the same tactics as me :o)

As regards rewriting the AutoGamma script so that it works with the standard Max color correct, it’s almost certainly possible, but I won’t be doing it. I think I do enough keeping all of the plugins going, and every time I do them all for a new release, I wonder why I bother, because on average I receive something like 2 small donations from users that are glad to have the new versions, and literally 10s of thousands of people downloading everything because “it’s free and it’s on the internet”.

I can understand how frustrating that is.

You know, I’m pretty sure I’ve donated to the site before, but what the hell, I’m gonna send some more money your way for the 2012 plugins. You really do provide an amazing service to the community. And I highly recommend to everybody who downloads plugins from the site to do the same, I’m sure these recompiles have saved us all a lot of grief and money, and David should be compensated for that service. Come on everyone, lets show some support!

 Thanks Neil, you really were the second person ever to press that button, so you’re one of the good guys!

Unfortunatelly You are quite right about the donations. On the other hand if it IS for free why would people bother paying for it? It’s not logical, isn’t it? And I know that’s ‘nothing’ but I am very gratefull for all those free things on the internet. There is yet another side of the coin though - If I got sth for free from the net and I get paid for using it - well, I should share the money, shouldn’t I?

So at the end - I am sorry, I haven’t even thought about donating Your stuff. This is going to change (as soon as I know HOW am I supposed to pay abroad if I haven’t got the credit card…)

I really wish Cuneyt would recompile/resurrect Quickdirt. I loved that plugin.

And yeah, you’re spot on with the donation thing Neil - I’ve donated before, but not nearly enough - just rectified that.

Anyone who’s using Max for commercial work should see it as an obligation really. Users would be right in the shit if it wasn’t for Dave.

Cheers

Steve

+1 for QuickDirt, really loved it.

I have never even used a plugin from you (YET) but I will because I just noticed how much work you’ve done on your website. I just donated to your efforts to show my appreciation in advance. -

THANK YOU Mr. Dave Baker.

note: I found this post while looking for a Max 2011 version of CollerCorrect.dlm
