Color Outer Offset

#1

Hi!

I’d like to know if is possible in Photoshop to “offset” the color value of an image along the border.

Take a look here:
http://www.ossosso.com/public/scambio/shoot2.jpg

I need to fill the white areas, this is a 3d mesh with a texture applied on it.
To avoid the work into the UV editor, I think it’s easier to modify the image into photoshop, creating a sort of “offset” of the color value for the border of the image.

Thank you for any help.

You need to offset the color values of the white area to what?

I need to replace the white area with the near color of the image along the border, like if you make a sort of manual stamp, but I need to do it automatically.

Like if you do a selection, and then use the commando “Modifica–>Traccia” (I’ve the italian version, in english could be something similar to “Modify–>Path” or “Morify–>Trace”), and instead of use a single color the track is colored accordly with the image perimeter.

Try Flaming Pear Solidfy! I use that one for stuff I do in Second Life - it fills in the selection or area with the pixel color of the nearest neighbor. Best thing is that it’s free!

Hope that helps you!

Wow, Suztv! I didn’t realize such a plugin existed! I’ve been doing what Solidify does, manually, by duplicating a layer multiple times and blurring it incrementally. This will save so much time when creating texture maps with transparency.

Here’s another vote for Solidify. We use it at work and it works a charm!

Wow good plugin,
not bad, it fiils the area around the selection, but it seems that there is too much “Transparency” and so the filled area appears a bit “pale”

Is it normal?
