Clouds forced by wind and vortex. HOW???

#1

Hi. A problem here is to make a lot of clouds, forced with wind and vortex fields like on the videos from satellite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFsWU2j5bPc
How to make it? What plug-ins can help? for this moment i have trapcode particulat, but i don’t know how to make particles forced by vortex.

Why bother with particles?

Effect --> Noise and Grain --> Fractal Noise
Effect --> Distort --> Polar Coordinates

uhmmm… did you try?
looks like that it’s impossible to make near-realistic clouds with that way

#4

in the example you snet, the clouds were real. (satellite).
If I were you, I would use real clouds to get some space shots (photoshop them) and morph - distort the results to get the last effect.

You didn’t try hard enough.

Too bad, but i have no idea how to do it…
I took some low-resolution videos from the satellite, colorkeyed them and blended together… i’m glad with the result, looks nice… Ehh…could the videos be better…

#7

i have built one video-texture of 10 little pieces, but still, the resolution is too small… i need 2x more size

2undream: i’d tried to… you will not get good result using “liquify” in AE for 19 seconds… it’s impossible

thats 4 sure

NO NO NO NO NO, that is a bad idea!!
show me your result if it’s particularly looks like the clouds on the link I gave
That way gives just a distorted noise, not the clouds!

wats happned???guys

This is hard to do. I had to do it for a job once and really struggled. In the end, i used particles in 3dsmax with a cloud pattern mapped on top. Its tough…good luck!
