cloth is torn


good morning everybody,
i am in trouble with my cloth simulation,
i have a character who is reading a book in the animation and he wears a long shirt.
problem is : to hold the book i need to rotate character’s arm, and when i rotate it the skin takes sharoer form, so my cloth is torn when it rotates.
how can i prevent this, , cannot change the skin weights, this is a big project and this may cause problems.
is there a more logical and tricky way??
