Clean Meshes Part 2


Hiya all,

I keep running into a problem when I subdivide a mesh. I create a mesh using a mix of Append Poly and extrude edges but they clearly have an issue when subdivided. I make sure all vertices are merged. It looks like the edges may be two separate ones? If pull the mesh about it all stays together.

Any ideas?




You have some reversed normals.

Try Unify Normals which is at the bottom of the Modify menu.

It may not be obvious, but when using the polygon tool the normal direction depends on whether you append in clockwise or anti-clockwise order. Anti-clockwise will produce a front facing normal and clockwise will be reversed.
