City WIP - crit Needed

Miles better!
I think the cable cars are a great idea - they add some life to the image. The textures are great and the DOF is way better. The buildings in the background are great and make the skyline way more interesting.

I’m starting to run out of crits! Maybe the cables are too think? Where the closest one joins onto the close building I think it looks out of proportion. I also think the pic could be improved if you continued the buildings closer to the camera. On the LHS, it looks like you’ve modeled to a line where you say “Ok, this is close enough to the camera, lets stop now!”. I like being able to see the edges of the close buildings though. Aren’t I a hard customer to please!

Once again it looks as if the second-to-closest leg (over on the LHS) and the ones on the building behind it somehow let the light through. I’m sorry, but it’s still not quite right.

Other than those, I don’t think I have anything to say except NICE JOB!

I think your picture is going better and better. I agree with George here. I would like to see more buildings in the foreground, roofs. Why they suddenly end? Is there a wide ‘central park’? :stuck_out_tongue: And heavy contrast on the larger building to the left, because sunlight should be behind it?
Cheers.

I hate to be picky, but you still have some transparency issues with the large buildings on the left. The Sunlight is seen through the legs/struts of the buildings.

i like the feel of this image.
you will need to put a lot of extra attention into the process of making it look real though.

are you planing to overlay a lot of textures in photoshop or just mock up the detailed high res 3D render?

in any case, good luck,
and lots of fun.

Looking much better

Would love to see some more interest in the city. At the moment it still feels like a greeble overdose. If you can get some more natural elements in the city, signage and things too to make it feel more alive, that will help a lot.
