Hello,
I am trying to pick a program in 3D modelling/animation. I live near Toronto, Ontario and I am almost finishing a 3 year program in Graphic Design. But, I want to work in the game industry as a 3D modeler.
My Parents want me to take Game art programs that are 1 - 2 years long, such as Seneca Game art program or to go to NAIT college (in Edmonton). My friend told me that game art programs under 2 years are generally not good because they don’t have enough time to teach you everything about game art and using the software. She recommends Humber College’s 3D Animation Art and Design which is a 3 year program. I also have an uncle telling me to get a university degree in digital or media arts.
I don’t really know what to do exactly. I dismissed the idea of going to university because I think the skills are more important than a degree. But, I am stumped on whether I should pick a Game art program that is about 1 year long or go for a 3 year program?
