Cherry Red Glows

How do you get bright red cherry glows like this in Maya:

Here’s mine:

My red glow just looks more like white…the more I increase the glow, the whiter it gets.

It’s probably best to do this in post. After Effects (or similar) do better than standard glow in 3D, in my opinion.
