Hi all, just blocked out an animation im working on for my reel. wanted to see what you guys think after this first pass. Just feels like it needs some more dynamic posing and smoothing out some arcs to me but I would like to hear your feedback and crits on this to make it a good scene. Thanks in advance for any input…

Hey man,

Just watched this a few times and it seems like you know what to do with it because I also agree that it “Just feels like it needs some more dynamic posing”. I would maybe consider having the character move a little more in the scene too, kind of like when you watch a good stand up comedian they tend to pace and walk around a little bit. Having the character moving like that could give you a chance to make the character hit some nice poses almost as if on a beat while he lists off the things that are wrong with him. I also felt like his final yelp needs to be a little more dramatic, perhaps ending with the character fainting or having the character jump up in the air as he yelps. Anyway hope this offers you some help instead of just the ramblings of a fellow aspiring animator =)

I agree. One thing i’m noticing is how his left leg is a bit slow to hit the ground when he does his little turn at 0:04. Good movement all in all though exept for wiggeling pelvis but its just first pass. Keep it up
