Character Tutorials for UT2K4

#1

Help
OK I have searched various UT sites, Polycount, CGTalk, Atari Forums, and a number of links from game content sites. I have yet to find one [size=2]tutorial that covers the modeling and animation process required for UT2K4. If I wanted to make levels alone I would be set, but character modeling and animation tutorials have eluded me.

Does anyone have a concrete tutorial link that covers the steps?

TIA

They are available on the extra dvd as VTM’s… or try 3dbuzz.com

There is information concerning modeling, rigging and importing.
There are no animation tutorials in existance. In fact, I am not sure how you must format your animations for UT2k4.
Just keep messing with it.

there are animation tutorials available on the UT2004SE dvd. Or check out 3dbuzz.com. The animation tutorial goes about animating a gun, but it is basically the same progress for a character or any other prop I suspect. Haven’t tried different character anims though, because a weapon is simply a lot less work to animate. Basically, you have to use actorX to export from max/maya to ut2004, and you use digest animation and the animation manager from actorX to create a set of animations the engine will understand. You just have to name these animations the same as the original ones for characters, and you should be safe… I think…
