Character Model Critique please. Anthropomorphic head

#1

Greetings

I have been iterating on a character for a personal project.

Key Points
[ul]
[li]Based on arctic foxes
[/li][li]Biped + Tail. Working on head for now
[/li][li]Will be used as reference for 2D animation (Volume needs to be implied by Lineart or flat shading/Toon shading)
[/li][li]Science Fiction world
[/li][li]Style inclined towards Anime, or The Last Airbender Series
[/li][li]Serious cartoon - Somewhat like Batman, The Animated Series, or Character Design from Overwatch
[/li][/ul]

Here I will show the process behind the design.

I`m not too happy with the front view of the model. This can be mitigated, perhaps, by avoiding frontal shots for long periods, though I would like to avoid as many “bad angles” as possible in the design.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the current character design. I also have these questions for you:

[ul]
[li]Does the design still look similar to Fox, from the Star Fox series?
[/li][li]Lighting options will be limited to one flat shadow (Toonshading) and occasionally light. Are there any good solutions when handling angles with foreshortening of the muzzle?
[/li][li]Bad topolgy?
[/li]
[/ul]

I haven`t found any good resources on how to model nad/or make proper topology for the ear section. If you have anything please do share.

I’ll be searching around for additional references.

Greatly appreciate any feedback.
