Character Changes Shape in Story Mode

Hi,
I’m fairly new to motionbuilder. I have 2 characters, one is working fine in story mode when i bring in a new animation clip. The Other one, seems to change shape slightly. He starts out fine in the Tpose, when in story mode with no animation loaded. Then I drag in a take of animation for that character into the character track, or even if I just select him in the character track from <none> to <dude> he does a slight squash stretch thingy. His arms are a little longer and his head squishes, like his skeleton changed shapes. Why is his rig changing on me? Any ideas?

Hi all,
I figured out the problem. When I made my rigs in maya - one rig had no scale adjustments and worked fine. The other one was based off this rig and instead of translating the joints, I just scaled it down to make it fit. It caused no problems in motionbuilder when assigning my character to different animation takes - until i hit story mode, then all hell broke lose and i got the elephant man. The cause was scale values in my joints in maya before i exported an fbx.
