from their press release, it doesn’t sound like anything will happen to corona. It says they are adding staff to the Corona team.

IMO this is more of a teaming up to be Vray/Corona vs Arnold and Renderman move instead of Vray vs all 3

When I first heard this news, I admit that I was worried. I don’t trust very large and dominant CG companies with small, innovative, up-and-coming companies. Still, i’ll have to wait and see. I quite like Corona. I’m not sure exactly how VRay could benefit from their technology, since they have stuff that does a similar thing already. Then there’s the new fR which is (finally) coming out soon. Perhaps they are worried about the intensifying competition from all sides?

Me too as it goes - as long as the tech get shared, it looks like we will all benefit.

It seems as f they are going to start making materials, lights and cameras shareable. Awesome.

What I would really really love is the option to do my interiors with Corona and everything else with Vray.

At the very least, a bit of a pricing deal so Vray users can get Corona for a decent price (free would be ideal!)
