Hi all! I am not beginner and not intermediate artist, and really cant say what is my skills level. I cant decide what course will help me more. And also how good they are overall. After reading different reviews different students who attended CG workshops, online courses I find that here in CGsociety workshops are one of the best, because instructors really take care about each student and giving them really practical knowledges. And at now I Choosing cgsociety instead cgma online academy. Let me explain. In CGMA academy I see really step by step program with “foundation and design” 12 terms, were students probably step by step can become artist with strong knowledges of foundation ( I am not sure), starting from Perspective drawing and finishing with portfolio development. Here link with their programm.
CGMA foundation and design program
But when I read reviews I find that workshops of CGsociety are much better, depending on really individual approach to each student, also I red that Robert Chang from Becoming a Better Artist still helps to his students with whatever questions they have. But here my main problem. In CGsociety I cant see step by step program as in CGMA, were all foundation is explained in 6 terms with 2 course in each term. I am scare to take workshops but never build my foundation base, which one seems is so important. Ah, also in my country I cant find any foundation classrooms, seriosly =( Maybe in future I’ll be one of the first who make course for inspiring artist, but at first I need to become good artist. At now I am VERY interested in those CGworkshops:
a) Absolute Beginners - Anne Pogoda
b) Becoming A Better Artist - Robert Chang (I will take this course no matter what, surely) - but didn’t know when, after some foundation courses or before, when this course give me more?)
c) Let’s Paint - Anne Pogoda
d) Digital Figure Painting - Don Seegmiller
e) Drawing for Comics - Tim Mcburnie - I really like style of Tim Mcburnie*
Thats all. Also here link to my blog with gallery (my works yet are not so good for uploading to cgsociety portfolio), maybe it can help you to give me better advise in which course is better to take at now for me.
Actually this is my first thread in cgsociety. And I think about making here “my sketchbook” thread too, were I ll post my porgress.
