#627

hey how’s the weather where you are btw?
Dropped from around -5 ÂșC to -22 ÂșC (-7.6 ÂșF)
in a day here, hehe, people beginning to start
swearing outside , waiting for their busses and
tramcars to come.

I had to dig up my ski hat from the closet too

Weather sucks - grey, wet and cold

Gimme back the warm summers! :scream:

#629

yea we’ve had way too much of that too,
cold, wet grayness with icy, slushy ground gotta be
the worst weather before hurricanes n stuff,
these bright, clear, frosty days are a welcome change
i tell u

.

#630

Oh dood, that’s super-sweet! :bounce: I remember we had only ONCE in my lifetime temperatures below -20ÂșC here in the CZE
You can actually feel your nose-hairs sticking and freezing together when you breathe! That was long ago thou

But it must be freakin’ cool ice-skating in Finland ain’t that right?

#631

squibbit: sweet computer environment. You must be a big matrix fan
Hey I happen to have that same figurine that you have on the top of your computer monitor. hmmm I dont see the figurine of the two twins though. Didnt like them? Or are they hiding somewhere else in your room?

I still have yet to post my new computer. waaahhh! Im such a procrastinator. ;D

Loocas: I wish it would snow here. In Texas it never snows. People get excited if there is ice on the ground.

#633

Some quick(ish) Hogarth copies. Look, I can draw with a gasp pencil (kinda)!

#634

i see he studied how the fingers rotated

i dunno if u know this or if it works for everybody, but
if you hold your finger like this -see the pic below- (by
pressing the middle bone down with the other hand if
you can’t otherwise manage), the tip part becomes limp
and you can’t use the muscles to move it at all. You can
test it gain with fingers of the other hand. hmm
wonder
should i move this to my anatomy thread :stuck_out_tongue:

those fingers got so cold this morning when i
had to take my gloves off with -22ÂșC outside
and the wind blowing to take some pics of the
sun. It had this glow effect u know, i think it’s
called halo, not too common i’d guess, dunno
for sure, anyways here it is marked by the arrows
little lesser glows on each side of the sun, you can
see the one on the right side forming a bit of an arc

yay wanna play with the dolls sometime?

yea i’m a big fan of the first of the Matrix movies, as well as bits and pieces
of the later ones. These figurines tho, i just saw the sentinel on my buddy’s
screen at work, he was ordering one from ebay and the toy looked so cool
i asked him to place an order for me too. His box came with the three extra
figurines, but he really wanted just the sentinel so he sold the other ones to
me . Here’s his Sentinel, on top of his 'puter at work

btw, there’s a little trick used in that last shot. sometime the flash of the
camera just burns the pic too much, like u’d gone all over the pic with
photoshop’s dodge tool ,and u want a lighter flash to get a better pic, so
here we used a regular white photocopy paper in front of the flash to make
it dimmer. It really works great

Oooh, good photography tip!

My photography favorite ‘tips’: Macro. A lot of Macro.

Use your chin to balance the camera. It works!

Squib
It seems in Finland the sun shines like on Tatoine > thatÂŽs most beautiful
Dude, you are right the first matrix was without a doubt the best. The only
film I saw seven times in the cinema. / the shirt - gamma ray?

   Elsie
beautiful studies. Your reconstructions of the originals are very cool.

I thought I post some things IÂŽm doing currently - most of them are not really showable
but anyway here is an example. IÂŽm testing some different brushes and styles for
sketching. I made 2-3 different colorings of the same topic with little content variations.

In the first image you can see the original thumbnail drawing not bigger than 5cm x 3cm.
The second one contains just some water color and chalk brus shapes IÂŽve added in
painter to get a closer look what the line drawing might look like in shaded mode.
In the third image IÂŽve tested some photoshop brushes and tried to give it a softer look.

The last one contains some more details.

Searching for some different things makes me often slightly displeased but I hope this

exersises will lead me to some techniques that let my images not look so messy as they
tend to be.

Yea only I always thought of this place more like Endor with way smaller trees;
I hope we get to see some Aurora Borealis too , that’s rare too though, only
seen it twcie or thrice this far south, sumthin like a once in a decade thing for me .

You seen Matrix 7 times in the movies? wow, i never seen any film more than twice
in theatre and even then it’s just two three movies. Hadn’t had the money or the
movie still been too fresh in my mind.

Yes , Gamma Ray shirt, went to see their concert on Monday. Their guitarist had
fallen down the stairs on the ship they came in to Finland from Sweden, where they’d
had their previous gig, so he was all bruised and couldn’t play. They got a replacement
guitarist though, from a Finnish Gamma Ray tribute band and tht dude played great.
He was all smiles thru the whole gig too, being a fan of the band himself. Still , he
was like a pro and played faultlessly and even did some funny stuff like when the
singer was announcing the next song he started playing an Ozzy tune (“War Pigs”,
if i remember correctly), where the singer turned to him , laughing and said " or we
could play something llike that".
Yea it was a great gig and they ended it with Helloween’s “I Want Out” , so cool

Awesome pics dude :thumbsup::thumbsup:
