I think we have some great options for insignia’s here, nice work everyone.

Though all of them are good designs, a choice still needs to be made.
My vote is split between eirenicon’s latest version and OKMER’s white sword and red CG logo.

there are a lot of nice ideas here although i have to say that everytime i see the traditional cgtalk logo i think it looks like electrons circling an atom which feels too “tech” to me. this is really bastardizing the logo, but here’s my take on it. i’d like to see something that all “classes” and artifact types can incorporate easily (for example, although the skulls are cool, it doesn’t seem like something a holy/light cleric would logically use). this is sloppy, but hopefully it prompts other ideas too.

I have a hard time seeing most serious contestants sticking to anything but something quite simple and quite close to the original logo despite many of these contributions being indeed great :)… on the other hand, the comradery-feel of deciding on someones suggestion is very neat!
but please take into account that everyone will want to depict their own fantasy and may just choose to use the colours in some way (seems the colours can also be just “somewhere” on the model) if the chosen team logo is too eye-catching. so must also try to get as many CGS-teammates want to use the logo… not just the one who did it and anyone who can’t do as well himself or doesn’t mind whichever he stamps on there.
will make one too but must sleep now :slight_smile:

and I vote for the poll being well into if not past the first week after the start of the war which is yet to come :slight_smile: (other forums won’t have a DW3 section until a few days).
no one will need the logo to start working and everyone will be busy with concepts and high poly before they need it so lets not rush :slight_smile:

It would be worth considering that not everybody may want to create some evil character, there may be some holy warriors/paladins or angels and logo with skull may not fit very well with that.

So if you would want to create something that would work in most situations it would need to be pretty simple and generic otherwise you may force people to go in certain direction that would work well with that logo so I guess its something worth thinking about.

I’m really liking OKMERS logos.

Nice balance, i think, between rough-looking but still clear to read.

Even if you only see half of it, say from a side-view of a shoulder pad or somthing, it’ll still read as the CG Society logo.
