Hi everybody,

KRITA, ~50mn

AH yes, that’s one of the prettiest Krita features, Creeto, love those line-swirls in the background. It sure is fun to paint with them. You’ve used them beautifully!

I’m getting sloppier and sloppier, but well…we all have our phases, I guess.

indeed, the brushes are really fun. i’ve got several sets from their site which are awesome. watercolors, pens, texturing brushes, experimental brushes etc.

nice pic. love the colors. sloppy is good sometimes

Ah, nice idea, checking for brush sets, thanks! I accidentally found out that I could enable openGL in Krita, which made it quite a bit faster, too. I still don’t understand 113Mb, but it sure is fancy.

Thanks, btw, glad you like it!

Ah, you all made such interesting pictures for this one! I just took it as an excuse to practice portrait drawing, from a movie still frame… And even though I added blending modes to my app today I didn’t end up using them but instead added some color tints in Photoshop. I also used some transform tools there to adjust proportions. Had some nice ideas for that myself but haven’t coded them yet.

Shading is very lazy smooth round brush with a painted texture overlaid on everything later to keep it from looking so utterly synthetic.

Pristine Flame: Welcome!! Great stylish color choices.

Taron: Pretty hilarious. I didn’t even see the walking aid at first. Yeah, that’s an old dude for sure. I saw the bodysuit IRL in Frankfurt once. Almost didn’t hold together anymore. Lots of the materials have dried up. Obviously wasn’t built to last!

Creeto: Cool. I particularly like her ankle somehow. It anchors the figure nicely. Did a quick install of TB and Krita but haven’t really tried using them yet. From a first glance TB has some bristle brushes that actually produce pretty interesting smooshy results, even though most of the app looks and feels horrible. Krita appears “modern” and pretty elegant, but it has soo many little gadgets and gizmos everywhere, and some pretty stupid brushes cluttering up the presets area. Will see if I can find one or two that I like and then make some images… maybe!

Ferx: Cool! Solid perspective in that one. Made me think of the “Tech Noir” scene in Terminator for some odd reason.
