CG supervisor
Job Location: Los Angeles, CA
Responsibilities:
• Creates visually exciting real-time and pre-rendered 2D and 3D effects that follow the established art style, and work within the technical constraints of the game engine.
• Work with rigid/soft body dynamics, particles, and shaders to simulate effects of explosions, smoke, fire, steam, fog, etc.
• Develops appropriate production workflows and tasks by working in conjunction with the Art Lead. Understands the game engine limitations leveraging the game engine whenever possible.
• Identifies potential issues during pre-production and participates in problem solving and creation of tool pipeline. Works to solve high level technical post-production issues.
• Maintains an excellent understanding of the tools and software used in the production of special effects and compositing. Ability to use and help develop proprietary tools.
• Oversees and performs post-production compositing of image sequences.
• Excels as a team player and strive to maximize team performance.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Manage 3D artist and CG team.
• Work closely with Senior Technical Director advising and communicating an efficient approach for CG projects at the studio.
• Extensive expertise of 3D graphics, particle systems, dynamics, and shaders.
• Consult and communicates project status with Producer and Director.
• Motivate and supervises CG team.
• Evaluate Artists’ work.
• Help to recruit the best artists for available positions.
• Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of applicable software platforms including but not limited to 3D Studio Max .VRAY, Z brush aplus
• Help to create and promote a fun, healthy, work environment.
• Should be mature and understand the demands of production.
• Knowledge of post-production process and video editing software, Combustion preferred.
• Max scripting/programming experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills a must.
Requirements:
• 6+ years of production experience.
• Showreel demonstrating high quality work supervised or executed by the applicant.
