thanks!
Nice composition, it would be great if you had something in the foreground.
The foreground has let you down. One of the things the human eye notices is shadows, they are on the opposite side to the the shadows on the castle.
The Castle is saturated quite well but once agin the forground is desaturated. I would consider putting something in the foreground. The eye enjoys Having a foreground midground and background to play around in.
I like the composition of the piece, just a couple of things let it down.
I wouldnt put in mist in, but that is my personal taste.
I look forward to seeing more of what you get up to.

hi there ! it is nice for a 7 hour work , but attention to detail is important , if you are going to put mist try not just paint white soft strokes on it, I would get some nice cloud /mist brushes that will add more detail on the mist itself and will give you better depth ,
I’m not against square canvas but try working on 16;9 widescreen , you will have more potential of succesful compositions and will look more cinema matte painting like,
also you have some real photo for the left sky wchich look detailed of course and on the right side you painted a overcast sky that totally contrast with the photo detail, I would look for another real photo texture for the overcast sky and paint a nice detailed blending btw each sky
the left upper cliff looks too blury
and would work with a real overcast photo reference so you can get the proper exposure dark / white values , cause I think the castle has too dark its shadow side
hope this helps
Thanks for your comments! I took advice from both of you, adding a foreground and making the clouds on the right side photoreal…
Let me know what you think!
Thanks again
