thank u all.
Would you be able to upload your animation to www.vimeo.com or such? It would be a lot easier to give you suggestions if we had something of yours to look at.
I’m not sure this will help, but trying to understand the differences between realistic motion and toony motion might help.
For example, toony motion tends to exaggerated movement and poses, while realistic motion tends toward less exaggerated movement and less pose to pose visibility.
So as you animate for realism, make sure you aren’t exaggerating too much. Tone done any wild actions or extreme poses. Check your graphs (if you are doing 3d animation) and make sure that differences in amplitude on your curves isn’t too great - unless really called for).
In the same way any overlapping motion should be subtle and not overly overlapping. Same for anticipation, we don’t anticipate things as wildly as in toons. The same goes pretty much for all the animation principles… tone them down for realism.
Another difference lies in the fact that most toony movement will 'hold' a pose and then move quickly to the next pose (and often it's very quickly). Realistic motion is sometimes better animated straight ahead instead of pose to pose. So when you animate realistic motion try to lose the pose to pose look. A toony animation will feel snappy, realistic motion does not and that has to do with the timing and pose to pose feel.
Overall realistic motion has more details, is more subtle, less pose oriented, and obviously the timing is closer to real time. Hope that helps a bit!
