There are two backdrop methods that can be used with modo. “Backdrop items” are the best (imho). You are probably using the older backdrop image implementation.
Backdrop items have the advantage of being saved with the .lxo file. Here’s a link to a video on the lux website that explains backdrop items…

Btw, you can save the backdrops you have created by saving them as layouts but it’s not as good a system.
