Hi,
is it possible to add lighting to my camera projected scene in maya? Or do I stick with the original lighting of the photo…? How do I set up my scene to add my lighting?

Hio Eric,
You generally don’t want any added lights into your projected MP scene as you already have the lighting baked into your textures. If you would like some lights in it, you would want to paint a more diffuse texture onto the projections, then you can add a light into your scene that would affect the surface/geometry of the projected areas. So more detailed models that match up with your textures in addition to extra maps such as specular on the projections + the diffuse. If you wanted to go further, you can fully model out the areas and do some AmbOcc pass, some lights, an environment map for reflections and ambient color, and some UV’s on the models for a more 3D feel.
If you were just doing projection though, I would stay away from any added lights, as it gets more complicated quickly. The beauty of projections is staying simple, with a smaller camera move, without having to go more of a 3D route.
Thank you very much for your precise and detailed awnser, all hail to the new forum leader : )
