Camera depth pass just white

I’m trying to make the course “Compositing a Lunar Environment in After Effects and Maya” and i finished my maya scene. now i’m trying to render it with a camera depth pass as suggested in the course. i’ve activated remap depth values and set far clipping plane to a suitable value. when i render it the whole pass except the parts where you see the background is white.

this is what the rendered image in render view looks like:

Are you sure that your camera is not more than 75 units away from the fist geometry?

yes i am, but i solved it now by setting the max buffer val to 100.
