C4D: Different projection types for different channels?

#1

Hey guys,

I was wondering, is there a way to get different projection types for the different maps (diffuse, normal, specular, etc…) in Cinema 4D? I ask because I guess I’m still a bit confused as to the best practices… For one model, I’d like to have the normal map use the defined UVs and have the color map use the UVs, but I’d like to be able to scale the color map differently than the normal map to get some more detail out of a texture. Is there a way to do this, or are my instincts just completely off?

On a similar note to those really familiar with C4D’s material system: if I wanted to, say, have a seamless texture that covers an entire model and then have a separate, UV-defined texture for details, how could that be accomplished? I’ve tried it and it works for simple color data, but normal maps don’t work at all with the alpha channel required to “stack” materials in C4D.

Sorry about the longwindedness.
