C4 framebuffer via Firewire-DAC100-TV

Not sure if I’m just not getting the idea behind the framebuffer but, here is my issue.

I’m running C4 on an XP with Firewire400 (DirectShow in C4). When I output to any kind of TV, it looks horrible. All of my particle effects have what look to be an old Atari resolution (huge pixels). I don’t know if I’m explaining it enough but below is the config.

XP
-Firewire400
–Datavideo DAC100
—13" TV via composite or S-Vid
—20" TV via composite or S-Vid

in the scenarios above, both the 13" and 20", wether S-Vid or composite, look horrible.

Any ideas?
