Buying a new laptop for 3D/Compositing work?

Hey,

I’m looking to buy a laptop (my budget is 2500$-3500$) which will operate smoothly with softwares like Maya, After Effects, NUKE…

Not for heavy work like simulations and 4K shots compositing, but the “average” kind of work… :wink:

Would love to get some recommendations…

Look at the high end mobile workstations from Dell (Precision), HP (EliteBook), and Lenovo (ThinkPad W). If you don’t absolutely need the portably you’d be far better off with a desktop machine which would be more powerful, less expensive, expandable, repairable, and all that good stuff that desktops are known for.
