Building a partial set for lighting in vray or whole room?

Hello

I was just looking for a little Vray advice!

I’m creating a small animation which takes place inside a kitchen. I’m fairly new to Vray and wasn’t sure whether it would be best to build an entire room so that the lighting is accurate or whether I could get away with modelling just a small section of the set and use a few vray lights to light the scene?

It all depends on how much of the kitchen you see. One way you could give the illusion of the rest of the room being there is with an hdri environment or sometimes even just a ldr image for reflection.
